ResMed CPAP machines

+ Resmed CPAP: A CPAP machine works at a fixed pressure machine, which means that it delivers a constant air pressure set by your doctor.

+ Resmed APAP: With the SmartStart™ function (ResMed), the auto cpap machine starts supplying air as soon as it recognises that you are breathing into the mask.

+ Resmed BiPAP: A BiPAP machine is ideal for people who have difficulty adjusting to the breathing pressure. It offers two pressure levels: a higher pressure when inhaling and a lower pressure when exhaling to improve breathing comfort.

+ Resmed Portable CPAP: Travel CPAP machines, such as the ResMed AirMini, offer many of the same benefits as conventional devices, but are much more compact. The AirMini is the world's smallest CPAP device, weighs less than a pound and fits in the palm of your hand.

ResMed Masks

ResMed believes that the performance of a mask is essential. A mask should seal firmly yet comfortably regardless of sleeping position, and it should not be difficult to find a suitable model. For this reason, ResMed CPAP masks are equipped with different features to fulfil different needs. After all, every face is unique.

ResMed Accessories

There are a variety of accessories, including Resmed chin straps to prevent the mouth from remaining open while sleeping, nose pads to relieve pressure points on the nose and Resmed CPAP wipes tub for the mask. A portable battery can be useful if you are travelling a lot or need an emergency power supply in the event of a power cut. The hose connects the ventilator to the mask and can be heated or unheated. A humidifier, optional or integrated, adds moisture to the breathing air to reduce dryness and discomfort and increase comfort.

FAQs

What is the difference between CPAP, APAP, and BiPAP machines from ResMed?

CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) provides a constant, fixed pressure. APAP (automatic positive airway pressure) adjusts the pressure individually during the night. BiPAP (bi-level airway pressure) provides two pressure levels: a higher one when breathing in and a lower one when breathing out, making it more comfortable for people with higher pressure requirements.

How do I access my Resmed data?

While patients can easily view a summary of their CPAP therapy usage from the previous night on their device screen, we also suggest using ResMed’s myAir™ app, which provides detailed nightly sleep tracking along with interactive coaching, educational resources, cleaning reminders, and other helpful features to enhance the overall CPAP experience

What is the cost of a ResMed CPAP machine?

The cost varies depending on the model and additional features such as humidifiers and smart functions. As a rule, prices range from several hundred to over a thousand dollars. Accessories such as masks and filters are often sold separately.

How often should I change the water in my Resmed CPAP machine?

Each CPAP machine comes with its own set of instructions outlined in the user manual. For instance, the ResMed AirSense 11 includes daily guidance for replacing the water, which involves the following steps:

- Empty the humidifier tub and wipe it clean with a disposable cloth. Let it air dry away from direct sunlight.

- Refill the tub with water.

- Use only distilled water if you're using the HumidAir 11 Standard tub.

- If you're using the HumidAir 11 Cleanable tub, drinking-quality (potable) water is acceptable.
